Dog – Bloody Stool
A dog whose only problem is a bloody stools may be different, the picture of perfect health and dogexpected to reverse in a short time. Diet changes or minor illness can sometimes irritate the gut and a bloody stool, the symptoms that usually pass fairly quickly, without medical attention. However, if your dog suffers from any of the above conditions, with an additional loss of appetite, vomiting, lethargy, and for a longer period, he may have a serious problem and a quick trip to the vet is in order.
If you find that your dog istreated at home, it's probably a good idea to prepare your dog normal meal (assuming that the food itself was more or less excluded, as the perpetrator). Changing the diet at this point may cause additional upset and intestinal irritation. Your veterinarian may recommend certain brands of dog food, or to prescribe medications to ease the dog's symptoms, but he recovered.
